Looking for a good Social CRM definition?
The “social” aspect of CRM is definitely a popular topic these days and a lot of what Gist is doing is directly related to it. A few of the Social CRM aspects of Gist include:
- Automatically curating individual and company profiles
- Aggregating and prioritizing information across content streams like Twitter and Facebook
- Surfacing the most actionable contacts and accounts
- Providing deep and rich contact records that go beyond names and email addresses
We think Michael Fauscette of IDC lays out a nice definition of Social CRM in a blog post from earlier this year. Read the whole post for more details but here is a good framing quote:
“Social CRM is the tools and processes that encourage better, more effective customer interaction and leverage the collective intelligence of the broader customer community with the intended result of increasing intimacy between an organization and its prospects and customers.”
We briefed Michael in the recent months about Gist and enjoyed the conversation as well as his deep knowledge about the space. Be sure to track him down (@mfauscette) if you are interested in Social CRM or want to learn more about it.
