G is for Gist, G is for Go

Today, we are making Gist available for invite-only beta.  We pushed the big red button at 2:30pm PST after countless hours of brainstorming, coding, cutting and testing. Thanks to everyone who helped us get to this point and we hope you will join us on our mission.

Welcome to the next generation of business communications where your inbox meets the web. Because it’s not what you know or who you know, it’s both.

A quick note - interesting concept but in trying to send an email to “info@gist.com”, the bounce back is “undeliverable” due to an SMTP error.

    7. admin Says:

Good catch Evan, that email address should be active now.

      Thanks,
      - Adam

Cool shots of the interface, I’m excited to get a BETA account (hint). You guys should be on Twitter. I found you via CSS Mania today. Looking forward to hearing, reading, seeing more of Gist.

Looking forward to getting a chance to check it out. I’m a big believer that email as we know it has to change, so it’s always great to see folks stirring the pot!

      Hi,

Do you guys need any more beta tester? This tool sounds interesting, so I would be happy to do some beta testing.

Also im interested in knowing how this web app can be integreated with other desktop tools? I find it hard beliving that people would be interested in using an web-based email manager, so integrating to outlook, thunderbird etc would be a must. Also the iphone seems to be quite popular to use when on business travels and on the way to work!

    16. Jian Says:

Very interesting idea indeed! I myself disliked the disorganization of email so much that I don’t believe that email is the best way of communication any more. Your concept is on the right direction to change that. I will definitely want to try it out. It will be interesting to see the difference between the result you provide vs. I will find on Google search. One difference I think of immediately is that you can deliver constant feed through email whenever you find something new.

    17. Jian Says:

The RSS feed link “Subscribe” shows an xml document, shouldn’t it be a more user friendlier page for signing up RSS feed?

    18. Valentin Says:

      Good work ! :)
      Congrats,
      Valentin
